Is anyone familiar with DCU visa?
I just received my card in April. The last two statement reporting dates were on the 10th. So I paid my balance off 5 days ago because I knew it report on July 10th. I just received a myfico alert from DCU with my balance beforing paying it off?? The statement is suppose to cut today not sure how they operate?
Im kind of of upset because it reported util at 23%. I never like my cards to report over 10%. This will cause me to lose points which is not good when I apply for CLI's this month.
Any advice on how they report?
I'm pretty sure that DCU (as is the case with many CU's and also US Bank) will report at the end of the month regardless of when the statement closes.
They don't always report on the same exact date, that's why I always try to pay off my cards once it finishes pending, keeps my utilization low but still have reported payment history
I have the DCU Platinum. They report to the CBs at the end of the month. Whatever balance you have on the card by the end of the month is what will be reported. Hope that helps ![]()

Thanks everyone! This is all a good learning experience.
And also, I did a balance tranfer to pay off the card. They ony take check which can take up to 10 business days. Just in case anyone needs to know.
My DCU CC "pay due date" is the 17th - I always pay in full, DCU issues an account statement on the last business day of the month (might be the last day, but I think its business day) and THAT is what is reported to the CRA's as far as car loans and CC balance. Yeah sometimes I get hit with a balance showing, but I pay NO CC interest and thats more important vs a few points up or down for 30 days IMO.
My DCU platinum Visa is due on the 15th and my DCU auto loan is due on the 23rd but they both seem to report on the 1st
