What I understand is She(OP) Had 5 Chase credit cards with Chase Business and Personal
Chase closed 3 cards on her (Chase Slate ($3K), Chase Ink Cash ($8K), Chase Ink Plus ($5K) )
Leaving her only with  Amazon ($1.7K) and Amazon Corp ($5K)

SO clearly not the available credit issue just too many cards from Chase's point of view

My Amazon accounts are through Syncrony not Chase

I have no open credit with Chase.

What I found the "oddest" of all - and you all please feel free to continue to speculate because I hope someone stumbles on to something that makes sense here .... my personal account that the Slate card was basically attached to showed religious deposit history of a minimum of 2.5 times the Chase Slate CL every month for household expenses.  I pointed this out to the bankers at Chase to prove my ability to pay off any debt if there were to be any and they relayed same to the "lending department" and the overriding concern was not my ability to pay .... so what does that even mean?  And to then go in to my business accounts and shut those down because you feel I have too much personal credit extended makes even less sense - the whole point of business credit is to get your business expenses OFF your personal credit.  My business credit reports were not even pulled or reviewed.  I haven't received those letters yet but I did pull the reports and there were no inquiries.

What gets my goat - each of these cards were offerred to me at the branch as a prequal deal .... why do that to your customers?  What a bad business model!

My question is if someone is doing 50k transactions a month, why is the limit on the card so low?  Was the 50k transaction a month done when the ccount was originally opened in 2008? or was it after a few years then a surge in transactions?  Was this cash deposits and if so how often?  Was a CTR filled out for any cash deposit over 10k to let the government know of such deposits or was it always below 10k to avoid filling the form?  If so, did someone fill out a suspicious transaction report?  We have to look at the entire picture and try to figure out exactly what triggered this.

It is closer to 250K a month and most (if any) is not "cash".  Most business is transacted through business to business checks, ACH transfers, online Billpays, Credit Card processing.  I am certain if a customer were to ever go and deposit 10K+ in cash, the bank would fill out whatever form is necessary.  We don't deal in a large volume of "cash" like that.  Both Chase and BOA charge you a fee for any amount over $7,500 deposited in cash which I don't believe we have ever been charged.  Nothing with my business banking seemed to "trigger" anything.  This was a periodic review by Chase Lending department - so I am told.  Who really knows though -

My understanding this person had a Merchant account with Chase as well... Doin't quote me on this...  Don't think she was trying to hide anything.

I don't think so either but the closure doesn't make sense.  She only had 16k on all 3 cards with chase.  What kind of business was it ?  I guess I am just trying to understand what will trigger such an action.

Three different business If I remember right and I don't believe anyone asked what type of business as I doubt that really would apply unless it was a Pot shop in Colorado or Washington Smiley Happy..  Which in those cases, they don't take CC's being merchant accounts lol.  I am 99.9% sure it wasn't that type of businessSmiley Happy

No Pot Shops - LOL Smiley Tongue

Commercial Retail Sales - pretty basic stuff guys - fits nicely on the computer screen and everything.

The whole thing makes no sense and seems to be a horrible way of doing business.  It really is mind boggling to me.  Offer you the cards, you use them, you pay them off and BAM, you're screwed.  I feel bad for you but at least you have other options to turn to.  In the long run you'll be better off with NFCU

Ask away - I have nothing to hide.  This is something that I am still shocked by and I am fortunate to have other options.  What about some of the smaller guys that don't that might have been counting on these?  Or didn't have a back up?  That's why I shared my story.  I have never been a fan of BOA but have ALWAYS LOVED Chase and am really shocked they did this and that once I brought it to the bankers attention that he could do nothing.  That was eye-opening.  That part of Chase has changed since I started with them, even he said it had.

And once I get everything moved around, I will definitely bring this to the attention of the CEO of Chase.  I have nothing to lose.  It may not help me, but maybe it will help them change their business model to help someone else.  I provide customer service everyday, I am appalled.

Re: DO NOT apply for Anything with CHASE

My Chase Freedom was just closed mid December with no rhyme or reason.  I logged in to pay my bill and saw a message that the account was closed.  I called and was told I had several requests for credit over the last year and a half and my available credit was high.  I pulled my credit report and called back and spoke with a manager and reviewed my report.  I said I had received at least 10 prequalifications from Chase and that I had not applied for anything other then the Freedom card since July, which he concurred.  He understood I was still building my reward card profile and all but said he was going to stand by the closure for now.  He said he would reveiw in 30 - 45 days.  I asked if there was anything else I could do and he said just keep paying your bills as you have, "I can see you have excellent payment history".  I said okay and have a number to call him back in a few weeks.

Why approve me for the card and then yank it away a few weeks later?  My next goal was a Chase Ink card in 6 months but I think I will come up with a new goal Smiley Mad

Not that I am happy for any of you, but I am happy it wasn't just me.

I wrote to the CEO of Chase and it got me no where!!!.Google " why did chase close my credit cards" you will find ouy that you're not the only one.It a very common practice that chase does,I've have closed all my deposit accounts with Chase after they closed my credit cards( $183K i had in their bank)I had 9 credit cards with them,Paid in full every month ran about 10K a month thur them,Their reasons for them to close my accounts: too much available credit with other lenders,I only had $18K in personal credit with chase and $35K in business credit. by the way my scores are close to 800 and I have less then a 1% Util
