Hey,
Im looking for a good daily card. Trying to debate on if I should go amex with the blus cash? Just got approved for chase sapphire reserve. wanting to use this for travel. I also have venture one, quicksilver and discover cards. Just looking for some suggestions. How do yall feel about a daily card from either citi or amex? TIA.
A few cards, Citi Double Cash and Wells Fargo Active Cash, offer 2% which is a sound floor for rebate purposes. Neither has an annual fee and both offer decent signup bonuses. If you bank with TD, it also has a 2% card.

I think you need to define daily card. Do you mean something like an unlimited straight 2% cash back?

I think they mean daily driver. In other words, a card they use for all purchases daily.

Understood. But what does good daily card mean to the OP? What are they looking for? They already have QS (1.5% CB) and V1 (1.25 mi/$) which many might argue are already good daily cards. But I'm asssuming these must not be good enough daily cards for the OP if they are asking the question.

Oh I agree, we need more information.
What do you spend the most on per month? I think that should be your main factor.
My wife carries the Citi Custom Cash for 5% groceries.
I carry the Amex BCP for 6% groceries and 3% gas if it isn't Discover's 5% quarter, and then the Paypal Cashback for 2% everything else.
Online, I like to mix them up but it's mostly Paypal for 3% anything paid with Paypal and 2% everything else.

Starting Scores: No Scores (03/2018)Since you got the CSR, you could consider either a Chase Freedom Flex or Chase Freedom Unlimited card. Freedom cards generate UR points in additional categories, and you can transfer them to your CSR for enhanced value in travel. The Flex is great for when a quarter's rotating category matches your normal spending. Only problem is that 5% categories have $1500 spending caps. The Unlimited can be useful becasue it covers 1.5% rewards in non-category spend.

Throwing in a plug for the AmEx EveryDay Preferred. I feel this card is highly underrated.
As a Daily Driver, it shines, however. If you make 30+ purchases a month (easy to do if it's your everything card), it comes out to 4.5x on groceries, 3x on gas, and 1.5x everywhere else. This compares favorably to the Chase Freedom which is 3% dining/drugstores, and 1.5% everywhere else. However, the EDP does have an AF. But you already have dining covered with the CSR, so I think that the EDP would fill your holes for grocery and gas, while supplying a solid flat rate as well better.
But, if you already have the CSR, with it's 50% redemption modifier, maybe the Chase Freedom is better for you. It just depends on if you will actually redeem those points for Travel with Chase in order to maximize.
