I don't like how Cap One will hold your funds after you pay, but I guess I can live with it. Here's my problem...even after you pay it, they still report the higher balance! I completely paid my card down to zero last week, before the statement was ready, and saw this morning that they reported my balance that was paid and sitting as pending. Good grief. Instead of less than 5% utilization with my cards, now I'm still sitting up over 70% for another month.

What day of the month does your statement post and what day did you make a payment?
Also may I ask where you got your scores? No one has been able to buy their own Experian FICO score since February of 2009. Creditors can pull Experian and also there is a CU in Pennsylvania that supplies that information to it's members only.
From a BK years ago to:
EX - 9/09 pulled by lender 802
EQ - 7/06-663, 3/10-800
TU - 8/10-772
You can do the same thing with hard work
I made the payment 5 days before the statement hit. Also, I got my EX scores from my lender when I bought my house.

It sounds like you have a reason to be upset.
And I'm glad you are one of the few who actually knows their real EX FICO score. ![]()

I have never had CapOne delay any payment including a payment made on the same day as the statement cuts. I have one CapOne card where I'm carrying a balance. I had some extra money to get my reported balance down on that card and paid them Saturday 9/11. Statement cut the same day. EX showed the updated balance on Monday 9/13, which is the same day the funds were removed from the bank account.
My other CapOne account was PIFed on the 9/9 due date and it also cut 9/11. I don't know any other bank that puts the due date so close to the statement date. That is really nice.
Are you paying them through CapOne's site where the money is drawn directly from your bank account? Did you ever have an EFT or a check returned, where they have a reason to delay crediting your account?

ditto, never had any issues here. did you give it 5 business days? (i know it seems obvious, but sometimes it's easy to overlook these things).
