I have Visa cards for Navy and DCU that I've only used maybe once and put on a small charge and paid it off the next day so I don't know the date these credit unions report balances to the three CRA's. Is it the balance on the statement cut date or the balance on the last day of the month?
FYI, at Boeing Employees Credit Union here in Seattle (BECU), it is the balance on the last day of the month. I believe the same is true for US Bank -- last day of the month.
Thanks for your help.
Navy reports 3 days after due date. Ex: due on 14th, statement cuts on 17th.
Not sure about DCU.
Yeah my NFCU statements cut on the 27th, but the credit bureaus don't update anything usually until the 1st at the earliest.
I wasn't very clear. Some credit unions like BECU here in Seattle report the balance on your credit card as of the balance on the last day of the month. They do not report the balance shown on the last statement. I'm pretty sure this is true for DCU and Navy but I want to be sure. I hate having something report on my CRA reports that I'm not expecting.
DCU reports last day of month.
Navy reports whatever balance you have when the statement cuts.

For a card account with NFCU it will be the statement balance cut date, which by default is going to be based on the date the account was opened. It may be reported a day or two later. Mine very predictably show up on my reports in the middle of the month.
