Decided to followup on my Amex Delta Application

Finally today I have decided to followup on the Application for Amex Delta Skymiles Card. Back on Nov / Dec they wanted a letter from me with the following information.

Thank you for applying for the Delta SkyMiles® Credit Card from American Express .  In order to complete the processing of your application we need more information

 --------------------------------------------

We need to confirm your total annual household income.  A letter on original letterhead from one of the following sources, confirming the amount and source of your annual household income and your home address would be sufficient:

Accountant

Broker

Banker

Attorney

Upon receipt of this information, we will be happy to reprocess your application.

---------------------------------

My broker sent a letter confirming the details. Then Amex said he is not a broker and they wanted his CRD#. Today I have printed a copy from www.finra.org with all the details CRD# and sent it by Certified Mail to Amex.

Today my Attorney also sent them a copy of the same letter confirming the same details on his letter head.

I have not done that yet, but I might ask my Banker also send the same letter to Amex.

I think it has become more of a self respect issue for me than the card. I'll call them next week and let us see  what Amex says next week about the issuance of Delta Card for me.

Wow they need all that just for the Delta card?
I would think all they need is a proof of income and should be okay.
I app for Pen Fed last week and got approved for LOC 10k and there 5% gas card for 5K
all they needed was my Pay stub or W4 for last year.

Re: Decided to followup on my Amex Delta Application

What bothers me is my broker sent a letter on his letter head and Amex claims he is not a broker and they want his CRD#. He is furious at Amex for questioning his credentials. finra posts publicly all the brokers information. Today I have printed out a copy of my brokers information and CRD# from finra website and sent it to them on certified mail. Also my Atty sent the same letter. Let us see what they say next week.

Is this a financial review?  Sure seems like a lot of work for a silly cc...

I did not even had a Amex Credit card at that time. How can they do FR if you dont have a Credit card with them at that time?

It's too much.  Why are you submitting all those items?  They can still deny you, right?  Is it the principle of the matter that has you jumping thru all these hoops?

Yes, I suppose, after all that this they could still decline. Yes, it is a matter of principle and self respect for me. If they decline, I want that to be with a valid reason. Not the BS they are giving. Let us see what they say next week. I really dont need another card at this time. I want to get this card because of the hassle they put me through. I want to followup till I get the **bleep** card or a valid reason why they would decline my application.

Sorry you are going through that. Hopefully you'll get approved so you can pay your attorney his/her fee for writing that letter for you.

Wait a second.......Are you really concorduser? ................

Holy mollie concord!! Wow and double wow! They are sure wanting a pound of flesh for that card.

I don't think ANY cc is worth that kind of treatment of both you and your broker. Unbelievable.

Sorry, but that horror story just snuffed out my last bit of desire for one of their cards.
