Called Dell and requested a CLI. They said the account is too new and they cannot offer one at this time. The only option I was given was to close the account, and reapply requesting a higher CL. ![]()
Opened my DFS account at 3000 with approx 650 FICO and 70% util. Auto increase to 4000 at approx 680 FICO and 60% util. Now still at 4000 with 728 FICO and 45% util. I imagine that I could get it increased for a new purch if I want.My bal with Dell is 800/4000.
How long was it before they gave you an auto increase? All my scores are in the 700s.
I had my account about 2 years at the time. I think the CLI had more to do with what they hoped that I would buy than anything else.
Ah, I see. I have the cash to buy the machine I want but would rather just toss it on the Dell card since it has 0% for one year. I also am looking to try and get higher credit lines so I can start dumping all of my small limit credit cards, my goal is to leverage the purchase with a CL increase through Dell and PIF within 60 days All of my other cards are all between 1500-3000 CLs. However the main issue I keep running against has to do with the banks. They are reluctant to give me a higher CL that what I currently have.
I think you'd like to buy best bet is to tell Dell what you buy and see if they'll give you that much credit. The DFS account exists to facilitate a sale, after all.
I would not mind doing so, however when I emaield them the CSR wrote back and said I was not eligible for a CLI at this time. Maybe I will call and ask the new orders department.
Just got off the line with Dell, they stopped offer the "instant on demand" CLis last year. The CSR said I have to wait for a automated review as they are also nit currently doing manual manual CLIs at this time. LAME.
