I bit the bullet and apped. EQ Score 655, 9 1/2 year bankruptcy reporting.
Called in for a recon and the lady said with a bk reportinf they can not approve me. Hustled me off the phone. My bk did not include discover.
I am bummed, was hoping at least for the secured option. The lady did not even offer a manual review
Sorry to hear that..... You don't have much longer till it falls off then reapply ![]()
No offence OP but you're on the Finish lap, why didn't you just wait the last remaining 6 months?
Thanks
Now I am just bummed/ worried that I am goin to drag my score down by making that app. Oh well, I just have to garden for a while.
I have heard so many people getting approved with bk's 2-3 years old, I thought with mine being so old it was worth a shot. Plus I have 1000 dollars on hand if I was offered the secured card ![]()

You only lost a few points. Live and learn.

Yes, but discover's not one of them.
They shot me down too with a 692 Experian but too many recent accounts/inquiries. Sounds like if a computer denies you you're pretty much done. They offered to go over my application with me but basically said "no chance" so I bid farewell. Chase approved me for a Freedom like a day later. It feels like Discover just has certain things they hang up on completely. You could get approved with no history at all or you could have 700s and the computer finds one of it's pet peeves and pitches a fit.
