Re: Denied for an Overstock.com card:

It was easy approval for my wife when she had less than 1 year of history. Nothing bad and low util. They approved for 5400 and it was the highest limit card, next limit was 3000 on amazon chase.

Re: Denied for an Overstock.com card:

I have 2 unpaid medical bills on my EX, 1 of the same bills on TU, and nothing on EQ. One bill for 2400 and the other is for 380, both from 2007.  I won't pay them because they failed to bill my insurance.  I have a history that stretches 12 years (I'm 31) and no negatives since those medical bills in 2007.  Just bought a home in Sept and it hit my reports last month.  It was the ONLY card on my app spree that I didn't get. I'm sure I will eventually get one... I may try again next year after the new accounts have over 12 months of good payment history...

Do you have any other revolving accounts? I find it odd that you got denied after just closing on a house. I closed on a house 2/6/13 and have been approved left and right since. ADT security system was a HP...approved. Best Buy approved for $2500.

Re: Denied for an Overstock.com card:

I closed on the house in Sept with one open cc, a secured cap1 card. 2 days after closing, I apped for Walmart, Home Depot, Lowes, US Bank, and Old Navy. I was approved for Walmart and Home Depot. I have 18 months perfect payment history on the cap1 card and 6 months perfect payment on Walmart and Home Depot. Mortgage is reporting 4 months of payments for one bureau and one month for the other 2. I literally was approved for every single line of credit BUT Overstock, and I have shopped with them regularly for almost 10 years... Such a bummer. i wonder if I can do a recon?? Then again, I have a nice set of cards to work with. Have my emergency card, my reward card, my misc card, and then cards for each store I shop at (except Overstock, of course)... And honestly, I prefer the smaller limits. I only use about $500/mo for credit aside from birthdays and Christmas... And that's max. I prefer spending only what I could pay in full and have only paid the minimum payment once on a card. I usually throw a couple hundred on the cards and never pay interest.

My household income is just about 30k, you know... If I am getting child support regularly. Mortgage payment is $355/mo, owe 51k on a $53075 loan. Just don't know...

Yep that is odd. Maybe overstock.com is very inquiry sensitive. I would let the inquiries age or fall off and then try again.

Re: Denied for an Overstock.com card:

HMMA MAYBE its the fact that omaha is the issuer. They are stingy when it comes to approvals. Maybe they want to see somewhat good to excellent credit. With no CO nor BK'S nor lates.
