Re: Desperate for Advice -

Google the CEO's email and write a brief email. If they contact you back they will provide the info needed to contact them further.

I can't believe that 6.00 is going to ruin everything.  Six. Dollars.

Re: Desperate for Advice -

Tough situation.  Assuming Capital One doesn't go the goodwill route I would call the loan officer and explain what happened.  The mortgage process is long and challenging so you aren't the first person to make an error like this so they will be able to provide some guidance.  Worst case is you get set back a few months, my wife messed up a few months ago and ran a credit card over the limit by $20 bucks which caused a 65 point decrease in our scores which recovered after a couple of months.  When you are going through underwriting you will be required to explain any flaws in your credit or income so be prepared for that.  I agree with those above that the mortgage forum is a good place to post this delima because there are brokers and loan officers that frequent there and can provide some insight.

Re: Desperate for Advice -

So, to update the problem, I looked at the payments that I have been making, and the problem happened in January.  Through a freaking typo, I shorted the minimum payment by $6.00.  I am such an idiot.  Like I said before, I can't believe six dollars is going to ruin our lives.  But a plan is in place, and I think I can get the mid and high scores over 600 in a couple of months, especially when I reduce the amount of the credit card down to 16% of total credit available.

I did post in the mortgage forum, with only one anwswer, but it was helpful.  I am excited for this challenge!

LET'S DO THIS!!!
