I applied for a CapitalOne Card a couple days ago, and didn't get instantly approved, but I have already seen the hard inquiries on all three. I got a letter in the mail asking for SSN verification and address verification. Does this mean Im approved? Wouldn't they just have sent me a denial letter if my report wasn't good enough?
yea it sounds like an approval to me......
I can't say for sure. But my advice would be to try and call one of the backdoor numbers listed in the following thread:

It sounds as though they may have just needed to do some identity verification. Sometimes that happens.
I would think it means...its not an approval or denial...yet. They just need more info or to verify your info before they can make their decision. Best of luck.
I looked at that thread and there is an application status phone number. Try that one!

I called...they just told me to send the info in. He wouldnt say if I was approved. Looks like I'll just have to send the info in and hope for the best. My score is good its just my credit history is short.
Out of curiosity, what card did you apply for?
my experience with credit card companies is when they ask to verify info they are trying to get you approved especially if the already pulled the credit...but who am i....lol
just let us know the limit they approve and i hope you dont say 500 because Cap One is good for that

Capitol One No Hassle Cash Rewards. Its one of the cards the credit card center here recommended.
