Hi All
Has anyone else been left with a sour taste in their mouth after messaging Citi through their website? - I sent them $1400+ on 7/31, which was received by then on 8/3 - but not yet reflected in my account - Im now made to feel that its MY fault!! grrrrrrrrrr - just venting i guess
No. How did you send it? They're usually pretty quick.
For the first time ever, I sent them a cashiers check while I was doing other business at the bank - It was UPS overnighted and delivered a full 8 days before they acknowledged the payment - ive always paid online and will be doing so in the future lol
Hi Finstar,
No portal was used - we used the old fashioned snail mail (remember that? lol) it was a cashiers check and ups tracking says was received 8/3 - it was for a larger amount than I usually pay, but its not showing up as "pending" or anything - just no acknowledgement at all of it
wow. you could have used Amex serve and loaded via debit, credit, or cash at walmart/711/etc and just sent a bill payment from them. would have arrive just as fast if not faster, not to mention saved u any fees for UPS or cashiers check..... $1 a month fee if ya dont add or spend $500

*oh* I see.
I sure remember those days and I can't recall the last time I sent a check through the mail! Was the payment sent to their physical address for payments or another address for regular correspondence? (since that can make a big difference)
Typically, if no historical pattern has been established with such large payments (even with a cashiers check) that may tend to have some delay in processing.
I understand the disappointment but just give them another opportunity to set things straight. What kind of Citi card was this?
When you send payments via overnight carrier it must be delivered to a physical street address, which is different from the payment processing PO box on your statement mailing stub.
Therefore the payment was not received through the normal channels and had to be routed to the payment processing department which most likely attributed to the delay.

I'm assuming the OP sent it to a physical address (which physical one I don't know) since UPS doesn't deliver to a PO Box.

Could have most likely been the reason. If you send overnight, check the box for no siggy. Will get there quicker and you can still track it. I sold on a few years back. The siggy will hold it up.
