Then they must not like me I have not paid intrest in the last 10 years except for couple of balance transfer.
Wow discover is still on the train of doing this?
Screwing with existing happy card members that show little risk conducting an expensive financial review sounds silly.
With that said Discover has always been "Special" (Mod cut -- this type of content is not permitted per the myFICO Forums TOS guidelines @Anonymous)

A couple of months ago, I posted a CLI approval by Discover. I'd been asking for CLIs for several months, probably over a year and always denied. They finally gave me a rather large increase from $21.5k to $28.5k. I was pretty happy because I'd been shut down for so long. Then, the very next day, they hit me with a 4506-C form. I filled it out and submitted it.
The part that annoyed me the most was that during the review period, my card was suspended. It took them 2 weeks to review and reactivate my account, so I couldn't use my card during that time.
Not like it was the end of the world since I have plenty of cards, but I found the whole process pretty annoying. I've also been with Discover for over 6 yrs, so they basically target anyone regardless of how long you've had an account with them.
Hey @Anonymous ,
I get your passion- but am puzzled by the "conducing an expensive financial review" part.
Would you elaborate please?

I've been with Discover since 1994 and was asked to complete the verification process in June. Due to an identity theft issue with IRS, I wasn't able to provide the tax transcript. I opted to provide the bank notary affidavit and three month bank statements. This took about a week and a half to obtain as my local bank branch was still appointment only due to Covid. Afterwards, I uploaded the documents to Discover's portal. They reviewed within a week and reinstated my account. All in all, my verification took less than the thirty days they tell you. Side note, I have multiple payment accounts, I chose one that bank's branch was closer to me (it's not my primary banking account so deposits are not reflective of my actual income, significantly less).
My account was unlocked and is now available to use again. I received the following email early this morning:
Thank you for submitting the requested documentation to verify information on your account. We have successfully completed our review. At this time, the hold on your account has been lifted. You may now continue to use your Discover® card. |

@simplynoir thanks.
For anyone in the same situation, I want to point out that I took it upon myself to overnight Discover my last 3 paystubs, bank statements and my job offer letters since my jumped from 85k in 2021 (after deductions) to 133k base plus 18k bonus for 2021. I'm not sure if that affected their decision, but it definitely can't hurt.
If you just received the request for 4506-c, don't be afraid to overnight them financial documents that speak more to your current situation than your prior tax returns but do it right away. You only have a few days from signing the 4506-c until they make their decision. In retrospect, I'm glad I didn't close the card.
Glad to hear it all worked out in the end.
I do not have a Discover product and will never apply for one based on these type of stories. I would be fairly insulted by the 4506T request to be honest (unless an actual issue existed.)
Love my Chase and AmEX products, hope they never pull that.

If I can't fax, they can keep their card 😂
