Discover 5% and WilliamPaid

with the discover bonus being online shopping, can i pay my rent with williampaid and still come out on top?

the fee is 2.95% for williampaid.

will this be a good idea?

Only way to know for sure is if you have used discover in the past to make a payment. You can look up the transaction and check what Merchant Category Description discover applied to it. 

Edit: Update after a google search looks like WilliamPaid reports as BUSINESS SERVICES not sure if that will fall under Internet Purchases.

do you have any insurance payments that you can pay online?

some people have reported that they do count. 

Not sure if this works, but you can also try paypal / amazon payments.

What they told me last year is as long as the POS is Online your good. Best way to find out would be to call them up and ask now that it has posted on the account. Even if they say no they are usually pretty good about it if you call and complain once the statement cuts.
