Discover APR Reduction

I had my it card's APR lowered from 17.99% to 15.24%. But at the same time, I received a message from Discover that they pulled TU report and I was not eligible to lower my APR. Reason was too many new accounts. I am so confused. Did they pull CR for APR reduction? Why did they lower my APR and then told me that I was not eligible? Smiley Surprised

No, they do not HP for that. Only SP. You can ask every 6 months. I'm surprised they didn't give you an immediate decision in the chat.

Re: Discover APR Reduction

Similar issue. I recently got them to lower my APR also. A few days later in the mail I got two letters, one denying the APR reduction and one approving the APR reduction.

Probalby just a glitch, nothing to be concerned unless the lower APR doesn't show next statement.

Re: Discover APR Reduction

Interesting.

My most recent reduction was 3% going from 18.24 to 15.24.

First reduction was 4.75% going from 22.99 to 18.24.

Wish i'd known this one before -- Will they do it along with a CLI same time?

Nobody ever tells you these things until you actually go looking for them! lol.

Doesn't matter when you do it... just so long as it's 6 months from the last time that you've asked. I place it on my computer calendar. I've gotten down to 10.99 which they claim is the lowest I can get. I then ask for 0% promo period and they will either give it or counter with a 1.9% promo period for 6 months. Doesn't matter either way, as I try never to carry a balance on Discover.
