This morning I logged into my accounts as I normally do & saw that Discover had given me an auto cli of $350. Now, this is not much at all, but it’s something & I didn’t
ask for it . My 3rd statement was cut just the other day so there’s some truth to Discover giving auto cli’s after your 3rd statement, maybe I’ll get another after my 6th statement! I’ve used my card pretty responsibly & racked up a fair amount of cashback bonus. I PIF before each statement cutoff date with the exception of one time which I left $10 bucks on my balance to report. The customer service is GREAT with Discover & don’t forget to ask for any promotional offers when you talk to the CSR’s. I earned $20 bucks cashback ($1 per purchase) for using the card to purchase things I was already gonna buy in stores!
Sorry for the formatting error...
Sweet! Good to hear. I'm hoping for some love after my 6th statement, but I'm not keeping my hopes up.
Yes - that is great for you!
My third statement custs this month and I am hoping for a little raise so to speak. I am in hopes that it will happen. I have run close to $7500 through the card so they should pay attention!
Congrats!

@smc733 @RockinRay Thank you both! Hopefully you'll see an auto cli soon as I did! Does anyone know if Discover will hard pull you if you request a cli yourself???
I have read on these forums that they do if you request the CLI...

I heard that if the phone system give it to you, you get it hard free. If you speak to a rep its hard.
Agreed - this is what I have also read.

Great information! Thanks!
My ninth statement cut and no auto CLI. I am still at $3500. It's enough for me, so I surely won't take a hard pull for a CLI at this point. I use the card frequently and pay in full each month.
I only use the card for its 5% categories. Its general cashback rewards suck. Amex' Blue Cash Everyday is a much better card alttogether, I think.
Discover's 5% spending limits suck, too. $200 for the month of June for groceries is very little. They want you to forget about the $200 limit so that you keep spending and get taken down to their 0.5% cashback category or that you get just sick of calculating of how much you can still spend till you reach the $200 mark. For that matter, the Chase Freedom is better as its limits on the 5% categories are usually about four times that of Discover.
Having said all of this, it's an ok card. It's great to supplement other more substantial cashback cards. Also, their online shopping rewards are better than most others.
