I got a $3k increase today from $8k to $11k. I used heavily over the summer with the cash back bonus and did some major damage.
Hey, Congratulations!

Very surprising as you have several 5 digit CL cards at this point. How do you treat your Discover card? Monthly spend? PIF or leave a balance? What sort of utilization? How long have you had the card and have you requested, received or been denied CLIs since getting it?

Sitting back drinking Makers Mark 46 last night, I decided to push my luck and app for an increase on my Discover IT card after
the fabulous increase I received on 8/9 on the Discover More. It IMMEDIATELY went to review status and I was like #$%! (drinking and increasing bad decisions!)
Logged in this morning and the CL had jumped from $11,500.00 to $16,000.00!!!
Nice increase, and nice beverage choice as well ![]()
Out of curiousity, was your limit before it was $11.5k and how long ago did you receive a CLI on the card prior to this big bump? Also what type of spend to you typically put through the card monthly and do you PIF? Thanks.

The limit was $10,000 and I had gotten a $1500 increase back in June. I tried for an increase in July and was turned down
for 'lack of experience with current credit line'. My monthly spend was almost non-existent. At any time I might run $10.00 through it every other month.
Actually, the Discover More got very little use as well, maybe $10 or $15 dollars every other month.

If you pull the luv button every 31 days it will creep up. Sometimes you won't get it at 31 days, sometimes you will, but you'll almost definitely get it at 91 days.

Thanks for that info. Very surprising that Discover (or any creditor for that matter) will give generous CLIs with a monthly spend of $10-$15. Good to know. I've always been under the impression that one has to spend a good amount, at least hitting 20% or so of ones CL to get really strong CLI increases.

I spend up to my CL every month. Paid off each statement. I don't hold balances on any of my cards. overall util is 1-5% ive had it since july 2015. only got 2 cli's 500 > 700 > 1500
