Good morning everyone,
I am thinking about requesting a CLI for my discover IT card. I have had the card since November 2013 with a starting limit of 1k. I was just wondering if I were to call over the phone to request it, would they do a soft inquiry right then and there or do they base the CLI off the last soft pull they have? Thanks in advance for your help!
I would call and ask if there is a CLI available. They will ask you if they have to do a hard pull then you can deny the hp. Good Luck!
I just called to try to get it increased to 5k . They said they would have to do a hard pull from all 3 CA's.. That's ridiculous, might as well apply for 3 more cards if that we're the case lol So I withdrew from the application. He said their soft pull is based off of when they send me my fico score and the last one I got was 2 weeks ago stating my transunion was 730. They must be very conservative.

you can call or do online , they will let you know if it's a HP and you can cancel it! Very easy to do

I don't think that they will HP all 3. When I asked for a CLI on my Discover from $1k to my current limit of $2k, they only pulled TU.
Try doing the robo-cli. Call the number on the card and follow the prompts. I was able to do a SP CLI even though the website never allowed one the year I have had the card.

I called the 1800 number and went through the automated system but none of the options were to request a cli? Was there something you did different?

Yes...I also always call but never get any option for a CLI. I have had my card for 13 months and have not yet been able to get a SP CLI...and presumably my TU is 802 according to them.
In my numerous attempts over the past year I tried with the luv button, robot call thing and speaking to a CSR even conference call with analyst but results were the same on any channel. HP and I declined. So any attempt over 12 months has always been with the online luv button...just tried to challenge Discover's system immediately when the luv button became active again....(every 2-3 months) repeated ...and to my shocking surprise at the 15months got the "congratulation".., had to look twice as it approved the full amount I requested. 2,5k to 5k With SP. Now I am happy with Discover..lol
