Discover CLI

I have a 25K CL on Discover opened in Feb 2015 and when I request a CLI Discover wants to do a HP for the CLI? Is 25K a limit with Discover and they need to do a HP after 25K?

Re: Discover CLI

No, my wife has a $37,500 limit and has never had a HP for a CLI.  There are others on the forums with much larger limits.  You may want to just wait until the next SP they do for you when your credit score updates.

Re: Discover CLI

I don't know if 25K is the upper limit after which Discover will start requesting to do HP's, but what was your starting limit when the card was opened, and how often/how many CLI's have you requested since then? What's your current income and how much do you put on the card/pay each month? Anyway, like K suggests, the best thing to do may just be to wait until Discover does their next monthly SP. I generally do my own CLI requests after the statement cuts on either of my Discovers, as Discover SP's my TU around the end of the month; for the older card, this is around the 9th of the month with the payment date being the 2nd of the month, and for the newer card it'll be around the 27th-29th with the payment date being on the 20th.

Re: Discover CLI

I started with Discover in January 2015 with a $4K SL and currently sit at $36.7K. Ive never had a hp for a cli.   When they say they need to do a hp for a cli I have always taken it as "its not time yet"

It was opened with 8,8k. I have not been able to get a CLI for almost one year.

Re: Discover CLI

If you havn't gotten an auto-CLI from Disco, I would do it. It's an SP so there's no inquiry.

Re: Discover CLI

I'd say that Discover might have reached the limit they think they can give you given your stated level of income and last SP CR. If you want more, you'd need treat it like applying for credit and cough up an HP and take that gamble.
