I'm sure Kevin is right... I have not had this problem with Discover It seems to be done in a day so maybe it is beacuse you are new to them.
It only happened for that first payment for me. After that it posts in 2-3 days tops.
This isn't uncommon for new accounts with Discover. I've had my Discover it card since 2001 and never had this issue. I got the Miles card late last year and it still happens. When I needed the credit I have been able to call Discover and they put me in a 3 way call with the bank I paid from to verify the funds were withdrawn and then release the credit immediately. This was for $5000-6000 payments though.
9 Days and counting. Payment posted 3/2... today is 3/11 and still no available credit adjustment. 9 days seems excessive for a hold considering the funds were withdrawn early the morning of 3/3.
