Discover Deals Question

So I just used discover deals for the first time last night and got 5% extra cash back at Nike.com. I saw in the discover deals terms it says it can take up to two statement cycles for it to post that five percent to my account. Does it really take that long? Or will I get it back fairly soon?

Re: Discover Deals Question

My experience is it takes the 2 billing cycles. For example, I just received the email from Discover that my Best Buy purchase from 1/19 will have it's reward amount credited on my next billing statement, which closes in early March.

I love Discover and Discover Deals but their tracking system needs a lot of improvement. Most other sites I go through it tracks in a few days and payable in a few weeks. Discover it takes me a month before I even know it is tracking. Plus, I've had a lot of issues with items not tracking so now I make sure to keep a spreadsheet and follow up if they don't.

Re: Discover Deals Question

I consider it good! Discover seems to post my rewards before AMX does! And I love my AMX card too! I don't mind waiting most of th time though.

Re: Discover Deals Question

I have had it post on the next statement in my experience but it depends on when in your billing cycle it was done as well, so it could be on the second statement after you've done it.

Course, you'll get your regular spend cash back on the statement where the spend occurred, it just may be a bit longer for the bonus cash back to show up.

Re: Discover Deals Question

I was worried that some items might not register correctly. I hit the shop now button but I have a strange feeling that they won't credit me my 5% back. I guess we'll find out! I'd really like to get the extra $25 though! Lol

Re: Discover Deals Question

I've used Discover Deals about a dozen times over the past 18 months.  My experience has been ....  "it depends the site".  Early experience was good (NorthFace and some others).  Amounts posted correctly and quickly.  Done a lot with Home Depot.  Takes at least 2 cycles and I've had 2 transactions that didn't get creditied. (They were when I challenged Discover on them).  Best advice, you have to track the activity and make sure you get those confirmation emails from Discover.

BOA (platinum rewards): Unlimited Visa ($25K), CCR1 ($15K), CCR2 ($24K); Chase: Freedom OG ($15K), Freedom Flex ($9K), Amazon Prime ($8K), Freedom Unlimited ($15); USAA Signature Visa ($20K); AMEX BCE ($30K); Citi: Custom Cash 1 ($20.5K), Custom Cash 2 ($5K); Discover It ($7.5K); USBank Cash Plus ($15K); WF Active Cash ($8K)

The last time I did one I got the email 5 days later, but YMMV.
