Discover IT - Might have unintentionally applied as student -_-

I chose my occupation as student eventhough I'm employed as well when I applied. So I assume I got a student card which is going to be my lowest limit card -_-. Is it possible to get them to switch it to their regular card? Dumb mistake, I know.

I'm already approved for amex, chase, regular cards so I don't see why they wouldn't switch me. Anyone know anything about this?

Re: Discover IT - Applied as student

If you were approved you can call or chat with them to ask what your limit was. Usually you can find a chat button by hitting apply for a card but not filling anything out and just explain it all to them. I suggest finding out your limit as for the occupation which did you apply for Discover It or It for students? Because if you did the regular i think you might be fine.

Re: Discover IT - Applied as student

I think I might have applied for a student card because during prequalification it asked if I was a student. I'd hate for this to be a student card since it will be my only student card and I don't like the idea of having limited growth lol. They gave me a 1k limit, I'm trying to find a chat button!

Matthew W: The team is available 24 hours a day/ 7 days a week at 1-800-347-2683.
Me: You wouldn't be able to help me from here?
Matthew W: I do apologize for the inconvenience. I am able to assist with log-in and registration for the Account Center only. I can not pull up specific information like that.

That's what I got from the live chat. Would you recommend calling them? Do you think they will switch me to the regular version?

Re: Discover IT - Applied as student

I recommend calling or get a new rep. Out of all the reps i have spoken with when i was approved which was like 5 because i had questions i had gotten 1 bad one who couldnt help vs the others that could. So i would suggest either calling or try chatting with another. It doesnt hurt to ask to see if they can switch it to regular or if that is the regular. What they might do is switch it and then may need to wait 90 days before getting a cli.

Going to call now, will update ASAP

EDIT: They transferred me to a specialist but the department is closed. I'll have to call in the morning.
