If relative's key problem doesn't resolve itself within two weeks, I guess I can just have myself added as an authorized user on that account and just use my key (I trust person as we're AU's on each others card. I just haven't done so with that card as it's a newer card and I didn't want to take the extra new account hit).
Good point on maximizing the float. Good reason to keep using key wiht 2% card when quarterly bonus on other cards is used up.
I can provide a recent datapoint on this
DW received her new AMEX Gold card Tuesday and was able to add a Paypal key to it with no fuss. She put it through its paces and made two PP key charges totaling ~$1000 on it. Now AMEX did call her earlier today leaving a message and when she called in they just wanted to verify the charges on the account since there were three others that was roughly $1400. Everything checked out and they removed the fraud alert on her card. We got dinner with it a few hours ago no hiccups
I guess the help messages that forward to a person work as the Paypal key is suddenly working again. We checked it everyday.
The only downside is that I had myself added as an authorized user to the card as I started to doubt that it would get fixed. This account was just opened this year so it lowers my account age even more. I suppose it's not a big deal as I'm gardening anyway but now I'm over 5/24 from two AU accounts, and accounts I opened myself this year.
Another intesting thing is that the Paypal key charge that I was worried about posting in time for the Discover category still hasn't posted. Something got messed up there. It showed up as pending and then disappeared. It showed up a week after the charge as pending in Discover and then disappeared again . I suspect that the vendor will send a bill soon b/c something messed up. I actually hope this is the case since we'd only get 1% on that charge since the Discover Paypal category is over.

@UncleB wrote:Has anybody tried using the Paypal Key with Walmart Pay?
At-a-glance one would think it might work since WMP isn't a bank-provisioned "wallet," but something tells me it won't be that easy... 🤔
@UncleB, We are all waiting for you to go first
I have not read any DP's on that yet, it is pretty new to me, just got the key a few days ago.
I wasn't going to bother trying this out with only a couple of weeks left, but I noticed that my PayPal Key was already loaded into Walmart Pay since I used it to place an online order just a few days ago - all I had to do was confirm the CVV in Walmart Pay (how nice of them... haha).
Anyway, I had to make an unplanned stop by my local supercenter today, and I figured what the heck, why not try it... and it worked.
Slightly off-topic pro-tip for Walmart Pay: I like to get a paper receipt, but you don't get one if you pay with Walmart Pay. To force the self-checkout to print a receipt I drop a coin (usually a penny or nickel) into the coin slot before scanning the QR code. The split tender causes a receipt to be printed.
This is likely assumed by many, but I can also confirm that the Paypal Key works with Kroger Pay (Key/Freedom combo in this example, but it would be the same for Key/Discover):
Note that at this time you can't use Kroger Pay to purchase gift cards, but for regular grocery purchases this bit of info might be helpful to some.
So far the Paypal key has worked everytime and everywhere I've used it... I'm definitely a fan.
Is this approach still working for this quater?
I used PayPal kay this month and received my Discover 5% bonus. As of last year, this work for Chase too.

My PayPal Key transactions are already showing up as earning 5% rewards.
