gotta start somewhere
Discover it is my oldest account and they just gave me my 2nd CLI. My discover is 2 years old this December.
You rich they don't want you. Lose some of your money and reapply.
My wife has received three or four SP CLIs. I haven't received any. We both opened our cards last Nov. The only progress I've seen is that I've moved from "Not enough experience with the current limit" to "We need to check your credit report to determine if you can have a CLI." Oh well, small steps.

high limits on current cards = low limit
few cards with low limits =nice limit
People quote stuff like this as if it is fact. There are exceptions.
While there may be an observable pattern that shows that some applicants with thick files and high limits get small SLs from Discover, it is by no means a rule for all applicants,
I just recently got a Discover, with all other tradelines and limits shown in my signature reporting except the Barclay Ring and the Discover (of course). Plenty of 5-figure limits, 6 figure income, thick file. And I got a starting limit of $10.5k.
They're far from my one and only.
Much more information goes into any lender's decision than a poster typically posts here about their profile.
Maybe they liked that I have an installment loan. Maybe my debt-to-income ratio looked better to them. Maybe there were sunspots at the moment I clicked Submit. Who knows? But they liked my thick profile just fine.
OP, the best thing I can advise is patience. I have a $30k Amex and yet BoA still won't increase my card with them past $500. We all face these frustrating little logjams in our credit journey, and sometimes all we can do is wait it out.

I have 5 cards with limits of $20,000...one with a limit of $35,000.....and an AMEX Gold. Discover approved me last year for a limit of ONE THOUSAND DOLLARS. I apply 3 times a week for a CLI and have managed to get it to $2500.
What on earth is their issue? Why so darn conservative when I am an ideal client for a high limit card?
720 is obviously not an excelent score. It looks strange why you have such a low score with such great pattern (high income, spotless credit history, lots of credit lines with total high CL).
So what would Disover consider a "thick" file?
Discover seems to value a long history with them more than anything. Had a card since 2001 and I've got 23k limit across 2 cards (it and miles) with 780 fico, $130k income.

Use your card along with using Discover's Deals, take advantage of the bonus catogories and pay in full you'd get increases.
