I've had my Discover It for 7 months now. Always pay in full every month. Can I get a credit limit increase online without a hard pull? I logged in and it said enter amount of desired increase, etc but didnt say if it would be a hard pull or not so I didnt complete it. I dont want a hard pull and not sure how much to ask for.
My current credit limit with Discover is 4,500.00 so I was thinking of asking for 2,000.00 but have read they are stingy. If its not a hard pull how much should I ask for?

Put any amount you want. If your credit is good enough they'll go with the soft pull; else in the next step, it'll ask your permission to run a credit check (HP).
You can also try their phone number and there's an option for CLI. That's an SP.
Would it be more likely to be a soft pull if I only asked for 1000.00 ?

It's always a SP unless it is necessary to go the next step. Call in and talk to rep. Tell him/her you only want to do it as a soft. Ask $2,000 if that is what you want. The rep will tell you if it requires a HP after he/she first runs it though. You then can say 'yes or no' on continuing.
