Purchase Protection If it's damaged or stolen, Discover has you covered.
You're protected for 90 days and up to $500 on stolen or damaged
Discover card purchases. Value restored.
The above sounds like much better than what Visa or MC or AMEX offers...Discover is truly becoming a great CC company as of late. Did they switch CEO's lately?
I am really starting to like them more and more!
Does this have to be Discover it or any discover cards?

Isn't this feature been around for quite a while?
Amex / Visa / Mastercard has the same protection in very similar wording as well. I don't quite see how it's different.
Granted, these coverage are usually backed by the creditor, not the payment network, so claims may be a breeze or a living hell.
Thus far, the only positive reviews for such claims have been mostly claims made with Amex.
As enharu says, similar to others. E.g Citi:
Buyers Security protects many items purchased with eligible cards for 90 days from the date of purchase against theft, fire or accidental breakage.
Coverage is limited to the actual cost of the item (excluding delivery and transportation costs).
*Coverage is limited up to a maximum of $1,000 per claim and a total of $50,000 per cardmember account, per 12-month period
so $1,000 rather than Discover's $500.
Yeah, but the Discover program seems straight forward, where MC or Visa is a PITA to try to get through their claims department.

you shouldn't be talking to visa or mastercard for those claims.
those claims are backed by your lender, which may subcontract it to another company. At the end of the day, it depends on which bank you are working with, not which payment network you are using.
to add: discover's wording seems to be as straight forward as american express, visa and mastercard. It's almost as if they copied and paste from one another.
