I did the pre-approval and it came back "recommended offer".
Is that like Capital One where I wasn't pre-qualified BUT these might match what your looking for or is that Discovers wording for this is pre-approved?

That's correct, if you click on "See more offers" you'll get
"Unfortunately we were unable to pre-approve your for a card, but you may like these offers" or something like that
I wasn't pre-approved, but still got a More card with a $1,500 limit so you never know. They ARE very INQ sensitive, so I'm not sure how that will work out for you (no offense)!

Good Point! who do they pull?
They've ALWAYS pulled TransUnion for me in New Jersey (I applied twice before and got declined). I also hear they soft either EQ or EX, but I backdoored into both and haven't seen a soft.
Hey, hey, hey, C.A.!!! Aren't you supposed to be in an App Timeout with the rest of us? Hand over the ENTER key and slowly step away from the computer.

LOL, yes... I'm not applying for anything outside of Navy until at least June when my Ch 7 goes bye bye!

Good choice. I think when that drops off and you let your inquires age, Discover should be good for you (though as always, they start with low limits)

Do they only review the inqs within the last six months or full one year?
I've been getting soft "PRM" inqs from them for two months now...wonder what that means ![]()

The softs are a good sign. They claim to consider Inqs in the last 12, but here's the thing.
Twice when I got denied, my inqs in the last 12 were much lower than they were when I got approved. But when I got approved, I had fewer inqs in the last 6, so ymmv.
They pulled EQ here in the Midwest. Took 10 days to verify my Address. Had to fax Bank statements and Phone bills. 5500 initial CL. 0% Bal Transfer for 18 months and 0% purchase APR for 12 months.
