Discover Question

I've read and was told by a CSR from Discover that you can request a CLI online after 90 days of account opening. Has anyone had any success with this?

Re: Discover Question

That's what the general consensus is but then it's always a case of YMMV

I got an increase by using the button at 90 days, and another at 120 days, I believe. This was not part of the "Discover train." My increases were after the train left town.

Re: Discover Question

You can request a CLI right after your third statement cuts. No need to wait the full 90 days.
Chase Sapphire Preferred ($24.005k), Fidelity VS ($17K), United MileagePlus Explorer ($17K), Chase Freedom ($15K), Chase Freedom Unlimited ($15K), AmEx Blue Cash ($12.5K), IHG One Rewards Premier ($6.1K), US Bank Cash+ ($5K)

Re: Discover Question

Do people typically have high success rate with the 90 CLI?

Re: Discover Question

Just do it and report back to be honest. It's ALWAYS a SP UNLESS it states it's going to be hard. If you just see an income, rent, Employer hit submit. Rejection won't cause a waiting period. I hit one everyday for a week leading up to my statement cutting, once I received the estatement I hit submit on one and instant approval from 1500->3500.

When I say go and do it I really mean it, it won't hurt you in any way shape or form other than you may receive a decline letter for each attempt. I've got about 19. I did do a BT on my card for about 1400 btw, paid it off because I shuffled my balances around for a week to optimize my score until a paycheck came to get uti down to 0. That may have helped my CLI, the BT was paid off before a statement ever cut reflecting it.

Re: Discover Question

Today was the 91st day of my account opening...took all your advice and went and hit submit, got approved for $400 increase, was kind of surprised after all of the high increases here lately. Oh well, at least it's something, I'll hit it again in another 90 days!
