No, but if I pay it through my bank account I don't get anything. Discover gives 0.25% for first $3000 spent and then 1% after on everything else. Just makes sense to me to try and earn something on it.

I called Discover 2 days ago to find out for sure if requesting a CLI results in a hard or soft pull. The CSR informed me that it was both. If the computer does a soft pull and determines that you dont qualify simply on your score, they will ask your permission to do a hard pull to follow through on the request.
I don't get discover...I got started on the same limit, very similar credit scores. I ran through 3.5k in three months and no CLI at all. WTH.

I have never got a CLI on this card, ever. No idea what they want to see and what not.
I just got a $3,500 CLI a few days ago via calling the credit dept and having the credit supervisor manually review.

Did this still create a hard inquiry?
Yeah she did, which I didn't realize she would. So I called back and asked for a CLI recon, the rep gave me $5000 more for a total of $8500 CLI added to my six month account. He did say Discover is conservative and typically wouldn't recon a CLI but he made an exception ![]()
