Off topic, can anyone tell me what the deal is with the score they give you on CK? I checked it last night becuase I never had before with them and it was like 652. The strange thing is that they use TU just as Discover does.
Congrats on the CLI.
The CK score is an "educational" score. It's supposed to teach you not to take it seriously.

Seriously though, apparently "Credit Karma provides the TransRisk New Account Score, VantageScore, and Auto Insurance Risk Score from TransUnion." They also say "picking a single credit score model and tracking it over time will help you understand and manage your credit health" which I agree with.
Think of a credit score model as a scale. You might have 3 different scales in your bathroom (stay with me here) and they might be a few ounces to a few pounds off at the exact same time. However, as long as you watch your weight on the same scale every week, you'll have a good sense of how your weight changes from week to week. If you have to weigh a certain amount on a specific scale (i.e. a sports weigh-in), you'll want to check that one to be sure, but most of the time you just want to track your personal journey. So your scale, or whichever FAKO you're most comfortable with, is probably going to be good enough.
If you're going to pick any score from CK to track, use the Vantage 2.0 score they provide. It's going to correlate the most significantly to a FICO score (in terms of positives and negatives for various changes on your credit report although not in absolute value) as they're fundamentally designed to do the same thing whereas the TU New Accounts score, and the Auto insurance score, absolutely aren't and therefore should be ignored for the purposes of FICO comparison.
+1 on VantageScore. I just checked my VantageScore and it's really close to where all my FICO scores are at

Not sure! Lol I just take credit karma with a grain of salt
Interesting. My Discover has only been open for 2 months and no statement closing yet. Didn't get an option for CLI on phone.
Aww yeah, instant SP increase over the phone by $1000! (10.5k -> 11.5k). Thanks for the notice!
(I've had this card for 5 1/2 years)

Congrats!
I have the Discover Cashback Bonus back in 2009 with CL of $3,000. Haven't been using it at all since 2011.
Try the automated phone, but no love
On the bright side, I signed up my husband at CreditKarma, and saw that my DiscoverIT card (CL $1,500 opened last month) showed up in his report (he is AU)
The CLI option did not show up in the automated phone number for me...
Does it cleary say it? I pressed the button for more options, then I listened to all 8 prompts. Not one was for CLI.

I think you have to press 4 for more options and then 3 for the CLI

I'm in the same boat, I heard all the options and nothing....
mongstradamus: after pressing 4 my #3 option is to replace my old or worned out card hehe I guess no CLI for me either
:EDIT: I replied to the wrong user
