so I was fortunate to get approved for the Disover It card, and I got this email just a bit ago. So does that mean if I use it before March 16th, they will cut a statement on that day and send it to me? In other words, it seems like the 16th is my statement date? Sorry for the silly question.
Once you start using your card, we'll send your statements on the 16th of each month.

Not yet. Should be 3-5 days it said. Regular Mail? I'm guessing if I use it before the 16th of March the statement would cut and generate a bill. Thank you for the reply.
My first Discover statement wasn't until the month after I got it. it would be too soon for them to cut a statement.
I wonder if chase will do the same? if yall have a chase card, did they email you as well once cards shipped? They both come regular mail?
Your first statement will cut right around when you get your card if it's anything like mine was. I received my card and activated it around December 4 and my first statement cut on December 5, haha. I had spent $0 and owed $0 on that statement but it was great for utilization on my CR, haha.
Welcome to the Discover Family!
Thank you very much! So, just so I am clear, I should get the card by monday or so, activate it...then maybe do a gas fill up on the card, let the balance show and then PIF before the 16th of March right? So, that it reports a 0 balance, but you think it should generate this month and not wait until April?
I think if you activate it before your statement date it'll generate a statement for this month whether you use it or not. That's how it went for me.
Awesome! Thank you again.. I guess I will just make sure its activated then.. Sounds like it will generate the statement regardless if used, as long as its activated...ty again!
