Nice! Thanks for posting this. Since there is no button on the website, this is great bit of info.
Congrats on you CLI!

You do not need to speak to an operator if the amount is reasonable. It's only if they need further info from you will you be transferred to a operator. There is no automatic HARD by pressing #5. I got my increase by speaking to the rep , who did a soft pull, it was then, when I asked about what happens with the #5
You don't have to do teh #5- you can always talk to a rep, and they will tell you outright if they think you can ask for a CLI, you can also ask them, what amount do you think I would be approved for, they will give you their opinion and you can say yes or no, and then they will do a soft. They will tell you specifically if it comes down to a hard pull.
Thanks for the info.

When I pressed '5' I got the message about what to do if card lost or stolen and then option of pressing '0' to speak to an operator.
Did it give you the option to request an amount, etc. ?? I'm thinking since I didn't hear anything else about CLI but only got the option to speak to an operator, that I will have to speak to an operator to request the CLI. I've had the card since April but maybe that's still to soon for anything "automatic" or "instant".

@Anonymous for the info! My Discover card has the lowest CL of any of my cards @ $6500. I don't remember the last time I had a CLI, I've had the card for at least 5 years (I used to have the American flag one). I'd like to get my 6 cards up to the level of my highest CL, $17k, which is my Chase Disney card.
It is doubtful that Discover will ever be your highest CL. They don't play that way.

Same here - I've hard the card a month. I think it's like the button on Citi's website - it only shows up if you're eligible

That's what I figured also, and I'm sure not rockin' any boats right now!! Guess I'll just be patient and see if they like me enough later to give me a CL w/o my asking for it!! And I'll just keep hoping I dont see the dreaded Amex CLD in the meantime!!!!
But I do wonder if that automated thing w/Discover is like Citi.... in that I've read on this forum they track that sort of thing....even if you don't get the option it supposedly knows you were looking!!
I think I just won't look!!
