hi all,
I recently recieved my Discover it Secured card in the mail, I was wondering if they look down on making multiple payments in a month. My starting credit limit is very low so i have to pay it off several times a month to continue using. Loving the card and using it as my daily card and want to make sure i am doing everything right to get it unsecured. Also does anyone know on average what a starting credit limit would be once the card gets unsecured?
I make about weekly payments on my Discover It (non-secured) card and have been for years. They've never seemed to mind at all. I've just always liked to handle my bills that way regardless of limit/utilization concerns because it keeps my on top of my finances and budget. Anyway, doing that I've had no trouble getting CLIs and other offers and services from Discover.
I believe if you make a payment more than about once every 3 or 4 days they may take a bit longer to update your available credit - and will trigger a warning to that effect - but it doesn't really cause any problems (well unless you need the limit right away I suppose), and it works itself out. Weekly payments don't cause that and process as quickly as a single monthly payment would.
I have the same problem with mine. lol. My problem is the pending transactions are not settling in time to make a payment so I can continue to use the card. But, I am about to change all that by dumping a huge CLI into it. Started at $200 and that is so lame.

Because I havent had time to call and request a CLI, I have had to make daily payments on my $200 limit. No issues and I have contacted CSR once to ask about my payments and they said all was well.
I dont think any CCC would dislike multiple payments.

I too am about to do the same. Im guessing making my CL an even $1000 will do for now.

I increased mine to $1K and I'll leave it that since I have other cards with much higher limits. Mine should be graduating in July *crosses fingers*
That $1K will be handy when I go to Vegas the first week of August if its graduates
