Discover will not update your fico if your account is not active

My fico did not get updated since July 14th. I secure messaged them and got the reply stating that my account in last period was inactive (no payment, no transaction, etc).. So they were unable (or wahtever) to obtain my score..  That looks like something new to me. I believed that my account was not "active" before in that case but this was the first time that i did not get the score updated.

I don't know what's wrong with my account. They haven't updated since July either but I've definitely used my card.

Yeah Discover definitely didn't update my FICO in August during which I had no activity.

Makes sense though. The score is an incentive for you to use the card, after all.

Seems to me it has more to do with risk. If you haven't used any of the credit line then why bother pulling your report. If you do have charges they pull the report to see if there will be any issue with getting the money back. Likely saves them money somewhere during the process by not pulling people who did not use the card in a given month.

I just felt like it wasn't like that before.. And it's completely fine if they do not update since barclay will update it anyway...

I didn't even post a statement either.. I wanted to see my cash back bonus earned from discover shop.. The statement can at least show me that...

When you view your statement, is it not shown as updated there either?

I hadn't thought of that - good point!
