Discoverit three messages after applying

My DW was pre-approved for the Discover it card.
After applying she got three different notices.
1 We’ll let you know reason for denial in 3-5 days
2 We’ll let you know reason for denial in 7-10 days
3 Discover Card received your application on November 19, 2013. Please allow up to 30 days for your application to be processed
Fourteen collection all paid off or got deleted since January
What am I suppose to do now so the 5th HP this year will not be wasted?

Her scores are
Alliant  720    9/27/2013

Barclay's   630   11/12/2013

Credit Inform 709    11/4/2013
Credit Com 700 11/20/2013
Credit Sesame  699 11/05/2013

Maybe she can call the backdoor number? I would ask to recon it-- maybe you'll have an answer faster.

Is the back door number posted on MyFICO a good number?

Re: Discoverit three messages after applying

Discover is pretty good with recons.  I even reconned a CLI with them.  I used to have a $1000 limit and reconed it to $5000 when I got denied for the increase when I asked for it.

It is by will alone I set my mind in motion.....
Always follow these rules: Only take a HP for a new account. Always use the best rewards card for that reward category. Don't close a card unless you know you really should. Never use more than 35% of a credit limit. Recon as much and as best you can. Use the introductory period to the best advantage. Get the signup bonus. Whenever possible PIF or balance transfer so you pay less in interest. Never give an excellent rating when it is actually the norm. Always look for a discount as more is always better.
Always accept candy from strangers because they have the best candy or from people you know have good candy.

DW was denied a recon. Medical collections from 2008 was the reason. Would a letter to the EO's help?

Re: Discoverit three messages after applying

Discover isn't that easy to recon ESP if its a computer denial. You can certainly try writing a letter to have the app reconsidered.
However, I would also suggest continuing to take car of the baddies -PFD or GWs

+1

CLIs fall under a different category to have a decision reconsidered.  Unless offered a contingent joint-application offer (if declined), then it's a slim chance at best.
