No credit card required
Browse credit cards from a variety of issuers to see if there's a better card for you.
I suppose the irony here is since I cancelled the card, Amex has been sending me pre approval offers on other cards.
Don't blame you for cancelling....PIF or not..IMHO, it.just does not sit well when you are an established member such as yourself to get that rate. I would follow up with a letter to them via their EO to express your frustration with their 'algorithms' putting you in that interest rate bracket...they may try to make amends.
as far as 'entitlement'...that is a self created prophecy unless clearly spelled out during the application process. There is nothing wrong with 'feeling' entitled to something, but conversely to feel like you should be 'greatful' for the privilege of using a charge or credit card....blah...that is the extreme other end of the pendulum swing.
you have plenty of other options based off your supplied stats to get a better deal. Others may had a different perspective, but they also have a different set of circumstances.
P.S. still send the EO a letter to express your frustration/disappointment. Remember it was a computer that made the decision. A computer that was programmed by a human...that can make mistakes.
