If it were me, I would app for everything you wanted at the same time. That way all inquiries will fall off at the same time. Plus if those two are all you're interested in, 2 inquiries isn't bad at all.
Same time or day in between makes no difference (theoretically, systems delays not withstanding), but yeah, get the inquiries out of the way and going on with life is a good plan. Personally just to save time I'd do them one right after the other.
Congrats on the mortgage!
Personally with scores like you have I would skip on Lowes (unless you are using it for a 0% offer or something like that) and just app for two separate NFCU cards at once, most likely you will get both cards you apply for and they will probably both be like 10x's your current cards CL's. What does your EQ report and score look like? That is what NFCU pulled for my CC application. They pulled TU for membership.

Ya I agree on skipping lowes unless you want a 0% offer. Lowes closed my account after paying off the 0% offer within the required time. I was angry. I wouldn't ever apply for another lowes account.
I'm sorry that you had a bad experience with Lowe's.
But we've loved my DH's account. Even if you're not in need of the 0% offer, the 5% discount at the register is hard to beat.
+1 to APP all at once, you want your age to grow with the cards and the INQ's to all fall of; you dont want the haunt of inqs alwasy being around!

Why would they do that?
Mike, good question; it is not a loan....really wondering why myself now.
