Do I need a Mastercard?

Aside from adding another Amex down the line, I'm done with applying for any credit cards.  I did just notice that I do not have a Mastercard.  My last Mastercard was closed by Citi, so I have an Amex, a whole lotta Visas, store cards, and a Discover.  Should I get a Mastercard "just in case" some place doesn't take Visa/Discover/Amex?  I'm thinking mostly for international travel since I've head it's more Mastercard friendly there.  Anyone here have any experiences of not being able to use any of their other cards?

I've traveled to many countries (mostly european contries and Taiwan) with my Cap 1 visa never been to any place that don't take VISA so I think you'll be fine.

I don't know that you need a mastercard but if you have several Visa cards there is a chance that at least one of them is with a bank that also offers Mastercards and might do a product change for you. I had a BofA Visa, changed it to an Amex and then to their World Mastercard. I don't know if this is possible in your case but it is a good way to go if you don't want to take the score hit for a new account.

When it comes to traveling abroad, Visa is the best to have. Some places (although rare) in Europe don't accept Master Card.

You will be fine with a VISA - I would not worry with a Master Card at this time...

Thanks for the advice!  I'll hold off on getting a Mastercard unless I can get a PC from one of my banks without taking a hit
