Do I need one?

I've always wanted a BOA cc. All I can get approved for is a fully secured CC. I just dumped my first premier card.

Heres my cards

Cap1 1000
Cap1 600
HSBC 300
HSBC Discover 600
HSBC VISA 800
Hooters 1100

Do I need a BOA secured? Since I dont have any prime cards?

Most say it takes a year of perfect history on the secured card.  I have seen reports of as little as 6 months.  YMMV.

Re: Do I need one?

Most definitely that would be a great choice and congrats on dumping that card.

Are you going to get the regular secured or do the 99/500 route?

Re: Do I need one?

BCG you app'd for their Plat card to try for the 99/500 right?  It's not a direct offer.  If you didn't app yet you might want to try that.  If you did app and it only offered the fully secured... it's still awesome and a great choice.  Works out to be the same in the end... just more money up front will the fully secured.

Re: Do I need one?

Hi "BCG",

I had the BOA fully secured card and they just graduated it to unsecured after 12 months.  Each individual situation is different.  Just ensure ontime payments and  no over  limits.   You  can add $ to the card and increase your cl's  without hard inquiries.

I would highly recommend the  fully secured card  if  you didn't get the 99/500  offer.
