I got $10 cash back on a grocery run at Meijer self checkout and it didn't ask for a pin. I'm on the 0 apr for 15 months and no additional interest of any kind. It did itemize it as cash back on the physical receipt and I only got cash back on the non-cash back portion of the transaction. Just my experience. (edited to prevent misinformation)
Not going to lie, this is a neat unique convenience that they offer that I didn't previously know about.

You may want to look online to make sure. While the receipt says you have gotten Cash Back using the benefit, but the online portal will say something different.
There is a clear difference. The Cash Back (which is CashOver) isn't part of the cashback that is 5%/1% while the Purchase is getting that 5%/1%.

Sorry for that error. This spured me to dig through my receipt pile to verify. I should have done that to begin with. It was $10 cash back.
After some quick math, I did only get 5% cash back on the non-cashback portion of the transaction. Thanks ZachAttack for catching my error. Notice that I was not charged a cash advance fee for the cashback.
