Today I paid off over $6,000 of balances across several of my cards, including a very nearly maxed out Barclay's card (0% on a new 5K iMac a couple months ago).
I know my credit utilization was keeping my scores down, so I hope my scores will reflect the reduction in balances. I was (and still am) taking advantage of some 0% offiers, so I wasn't particularly rushed to pay them off.
After all my reports update with the new balances my utilization will be about 14% across all cards, and will be dropping about 2-3% per month until paid off. I was going to call Barclay's in November and check for an APR reduction and see if I could get a SP CLI.
If the APR reduction and CLI aren't available, I was thinking about possibly putting in a HP CLI through their website. I see that there is a field for a specific amount, so I was wondering if they counter-offer your request?

Never used it as I have always got SP CLI's, but I believe they will counter. Not sure if any of those HP's are instant or if they always call you back? Always can recon a decline as well and possibly get the full amount or partial amount
Yes they counter... ask for $25k
They do counter, ask for more than what you want.
Using that link will result in a HP.
Edit: Try calling first to see if a SP CLI is available.
Keep both your credit and your body in top shape!

Why would OP need $25k on an Apple card?
Again, people need to keep in mind limits vs income. Tying up $25k in limit on an Apple card may not be smart and may hurt future approvals because of the available credit existing on that card. Just something to keep in mind!
OP can always move some over down the road

I understand what you are saying however in all of my applications for cards dating back to 1989! I have never been asked once by a lender to verify my income!
Also I see people in this forum with moderately low income (under 50k) who have 150-200k in CL. Not sure how much this matters anymore.
