I have a pre-approved offer mailed to me every other month and a pop-up offer appear everytime I logout of my BofA Business checking online account.
The strange thing is that I don't have any BofA CC - personal or business. I also have all my 3 credit reports frozen to prevent identity theft & have opted out of pre-approved offers for 5 years now. They're the only "pre-approved" offer I still get in the mail, which leads me to believe it's pre-approved on my businesse's good standing and history with them, rather than my frozen personal credit report's information.
Maybe I should just try applying with my current frozen credit reports and see if it goes through--since that would mean that at least the hard inquiry wouldn't appear on my credit reports.
I've been a business banking customer with them since 2000. Does anyone know if an inquiry would appear on my personal credit report, along with the account being reported on my personal credit report?
This is the offer I get when I logout of my BofA Business Checking online account:
As a valuable Bank of America customer, you have been invited to apply for the WorldPoints® Rewards for Business Credit Card
Hi Mark, I have a BOA Business Card which was offered as a result of me opening a new BOA Personal card. It was one of the online offers in "my account". It does check personal credit, so you would probably get denied (or unable to process) due to the frozen status of your files.
They do not report to personal. I was given a $10k limit and they checked TU. My Fico was ~722, just last month.
Great,
Thanks. In that case I'll take them up on their offer for the Business Card later this year when I unfreeze my credit reports to apply for a car loan.
I didn't want to get it if it showed up on my personal credit report since it would lower my AAoA. At least this way the only ding will be a temporary one due to the inquiry at the time I apply.
Exactly where do they report your business credit history to? Is that Dun & Bradstreet?
I assume they report to D&B. I'm not going to pay the $800 per year they wan't to tell me what is on my report. If you deal with D&B, you will think that Equifax, Experian and Transunion give everything away for free. D&B are best avoided if you can. In my businesses I can. Some are not so lucky.
