I've mentioned a few times that I'm considering one of their 18 month 0% cards for flexibility on my honeymoon this fall.
It's doubtful that I'd max the card out, and spend the whole 18 months repaying, I just want the option.
At the end of the 18 months though, would Citi allow me to PC to a rewards card?
I asked them over the phone a couple of weeks ago and the rep told me they do not do that anymore. However, I keep reading on here how people are still doing it. When my 0% is up I'm going to call again (and again and again
) to see if I can switch.
Starting Score: 648I think it depends on the kind of rewards card. For a co-branded card, probably not. For example: If you wanted to get an AA rewards card, they have different criteria altogether since AA has some input.
For their non co-branded cards, maybe... your best bet is to call and ask about the exact card you want to PC to.
I asked a few months ago about this as I was trying to convert a family member's Dividend. You can PC within the same rewards structure, e.g. From Thank You Preferred to Citi Forward but not from Dividend (cash back) to Forward (TY points).
I'd just want a Thank You card or something.
It's not a big deal. I just already have a low interest card, and once the 18 months are up I won't have a whole lot of use for it.

Exactly, that's what I want to do. Which card are you trying to pc from?

Nothing yet. I suppose I'm getting a little ahead of myself since I haven't even app'd for the 0 interest card, but I have solid credit so I feel confident about it.
I was considering asking my Citi Platinum Select World Elite MC to Citi Dividend MC (retain the World Elite status also). Will this work?
You will get nowhere with a entry level customer rep from citi as I was flat out told citi is no longer doing product changes, so I ended up calling one of the backdoor numbers (retention dept) and I was able to get a product change done, current platium select to a thank you preferred. Good Luck

Could you PM me the backdoor # you used? Thanks.
