Does amex account membership date gets transferred to AU accounts also?
Yes, AU members get the exact same CRA filing except for under the responsibility line it will state Authorized User.
If you are asking if an AU on an AMEX card app's for his own card, if he would get the account holder's member since date, then the answer is no. His member since date would be whenever he is approved for the new card unless he has a prior card with Amex on his own.
Ok. Thanks. I added her as AU on my Delta Card so it should report as member since 1995 and she also got approved for zync on her own so hopefully that should report soon. As long as her AAoA improves due to being my AU that is all it matters.

Amex is rarely soon. My zync was approved on 1/20/2011. My first statement did cut last week but it has yet to show up on my CR.
i just added my wife as an authorized user. the CSR only asked for her full name, no social. How will she be able to apply later and have my original "member since" date ? do they look her up by address or name? im a little lost here.
thanks!

Probably by the address. When I added my daughter, I had to give her ssno.
Just to state this one more time, for someone who is an AU and has no other history with AMEX, if they apply for their own card, their member since date will be whatever month they applied for the card, NOT the date on their AU card. That date belongs to the original cardholder and will not be transferred to a new members account.
Regarding not providing a SS, if no SS is provided, then usually is the address of the AU matches the primary card holder, it will report. If it is a different address, it won't likely report.

cdtotten: this is not true. An AU who later gets approved for their own card CAN get their start date set to the whatever account they were an AU on. I suggest reading over at creditboards, and specifically a thread dedicated to this very issue called "The Master American Express AmEx BackDating Back Dating Thread"
My apologies then - I am not trying to provide incorrect information, but I had this exact same situation happen and amex told me exactly what I posted. My sister was an AU on one of my cards back in 2005. The card had a member since date of 1998. In 2008, she applied for an AMEX Blue card, was approved, and contacted AMEX to get her member since date changed back to mine of 1998. They told her that for AUs, the member since date will be mine since it was my card, but when she opens her own card, she got a new member since date (since she technically wasn't a member). She tried multiple reps and a manager and was told the same thing.

I guess it is going to work the way you just stated. That is fine. So my daughter will have 2 AU cards on her CR with my membership date and one account with her new membership date. It is ok. We can live with it.
