Does amex allow splitting existing cl to a new card

If I have a $10k CL on an amex BCP card and now would like to use one of their air miles reward card: can I ask them to split the $10k CL across both the cards?

Will the approval for the new (air miles reward) card be a new application (hence requiring a new HP) with a chance of being denied or does the request for splitting the CL across the cards essentially imply automatic approval (provided you split the CL already available to you)?

Essentially, what I am asking is if is you are automatically approved for the new card if you let them move over a part of the CL on your current card (to the newer card you are interested in)

Given that you have $10k already, I would bet money you would be approved for another.

No you can't use existing CL to open new account without the HP... but since you have an account if denied you only get SP, if approved it's a HP.

After you have had 1 card for over a year and the other for 90 days I believe it is you can ask for a reallocation of CL but it's not a 100% sure thing but it won't cost you anymore HP's.

It's 13 full billing cycles on the donor card before you can do the request to move credit limits between cards. Can be done online but the option to move does not appear until after 13th bill posts.
