Went shopping at Talbots, Ann Taylors, The Loft and a few more department stores today. And I am tired of constantly being asked to open a CC. The woman at Macy's was pushing pretty hard a week ago to get my daughter to open one. I know it is just their job to ask but I just get tired of them asking all of the time anyway. No....I don't want their cards! LOL
Just venting....

I just politely tell them I have too many cards already. God help them though if they tell me "it doesn't hurt to apply"
Haha, yes! They have said that to us! I just keep thinking that the HP is not worth any savings they could offer off my purchase!

Im sure it gets old, but they are just doing their job.
Yes, I know it is just their job. But I am GARDENING! LOL And I don't even like department store cards...haha.

I used to work retail and they have to ask you about CC's, store rewards cards, warranties, surveys, and if you'd like to donate $1 to such and such charity. Trust me, the salesperson likely hates it more than you do but it's a requirement of their job. In some cases they
Even get paid bonuses for meeting goals.
Agree here. Unfortunately the salesperson has no say in whether they want to offer these things or not. It's do it or lose your job. So yes, they have to badger you every single time to open a CC, donate, get a loyalty card, warranty, etc.
I wish companies would realize that most customers find this extremely obnoxious and just want to make their purchase and be on their way. I understand pointing out benefits of services but many places, like Sears and Kohls, shove it down your throat to the point where you just want to shop online. It's not the employee's fault though.
No, not at all. With how many questions I already get asked when checking out, what's one more? Usually, I completely filter out whatever else the cashier has to say after "how are you today?" anyway, so I can make sure my items ring up correctly. If they want to continue talking after I say "no thanks," that's their business.
