Does anyone else have trouble with Macy's fraud department

I have a regular Macy's credit card, When I got the card I was instantly approved then I got an email that said they had to call me becuase of fraud (within minutes of getting approved).  I let them call me and they got it all cleared up.   I just called on Tuesday to see if they could give me a cli and they said something went wrong and my account was locked and the fraud department would have to call me again in 24 hours.  They called me Wednesday and unlocked it then transferred me to a specialist so I could go ahead with my cli.  The specialist somehow got my account locked again.  I am waiting for them to call again.  It is working on 48 hours now.

Also they asked me if I was wanting just an increase on my regular account or if I would like to open a furniture or special events account.  I asked if they were closing all the other accounts and they said they were combining them and it didn't matter if I opened one that it would go on my regular account in a couple of weeks.  I am really frustrated with Macy's at this time and wondering if it is even worth the hassle to have their card.  Last time I tried to get a credit increase they denied me, if they deny me again this time after they "accidentally" locked my account twice to where I can't even use the card they I think it will be paid off and not used again.

Re: Does anyone else have trouble with Macy's fraud department

Macy's is weird. if you research Macy's complaints on the internet, you will find TONS of complaints about them canceling orders for fraud and generally making life difficult for their customers. Their fraud division is a pain.

I have not experienced the things you described in your post, but they have canceled a number of my online orders to send gift cards to my daughter and some other items. I've placed probably 30 orders with them online in the past year and had about 12 canceled. I had to go through a 40-60 minute back and forth phone verification to get them reinstated each time with multiple people and getting transferred. I had to do a 45-minute phone verification with them when I first got the card, getting put on hold several times. Just a lot of my time that could be spent doing other things.

Macy's outright cancels the orders, they don't even call you to verify first. Google "Macy's complaints" and you will see a lot of people reporting the same thing.

My impression of Macy's and DSNB is that the right hand doesn't know what the left is doing. I'm all for genuine fraud prevention. They have all kinds of haphazard practices in the name of fraud prevention that just end up being an inconvenience to the customer.

I'm canceling mine next week (no reason to keep it because I have a lot of major cc's I use for rewards points instead of a store card) and will have a card cutting party when I do!

I really love my Bloomingdale's card (same bank) and won't be canceling it, but I wish DSNB had better business practices and a btter level of organization.

They would not give me a card because they said they could not verify my identity. Called them to verify on phone and they said it wasn't verified. I sent them documents in the mail and they said they never received them.  I did not bother after that becuse it was becoming a hassle.
