Which banks match the highest limit you have ?? Let's say you got a couple of cards at 20k or over... Will other banks match those limits, if so which banks ??
None of them will automatically. Some may, but it depends on too many other factors. No lender would be so stupid as to blindly match your highest CL without looking at everything else first.
Some do some don't factors include your history, limits,AAoA, how many high limit TL's and much much more...
They want your business but not by matching another bank and losing the biggest chunk should something happen later financially and you can't make payments.
Hope this makes sense
What everyone else said is absolutely correct... but they didn't mention the banks that would be more inclined to give you a credit card with a similar or higher limit..
I know that Chase will.. and certainly Navy Federal if you qualify. I don't really know of any others. How is the rest of your credit profile though? AAoA, UTL?
Back when my highest limit card was 3K, chase matched (3k on freedom) and exceeded (5K sapphire). I apped for those cards on the same day
Then when i apped for the Us Bank cash+, i had a highest limit of 6K, they approved for 6.5K.
At levels like 20K+, i think youll probably have less success unless the income is pretty high.
For me, I would say Chase and BOA. Once I started getting cards with 10k+ limits, their approvals were for 15k, 15.1k, and 12.5k for CSP, Marriott, and Better Balance Rewards.
I would agree that the matching is only good to a point, because once you reach the limit in what they will approve you for, they are not going any higher - you will have to start moving limits around to get approved.

But all across roughly 20+ on each report but in nov at least 7-10 inq will fall off from 2011.. I'm looking to apply this month though.
Don't those inquiries only matter for the first year? I had a bunch of inquires fall off last week. They were from when I was trying to refi my car last July. There will be another bunch falling off later this month (credit card spree) and then a few more next month. That will take me from 16 down to maybe 2-3.
