Re: Does chase allow moving credit from one card to anohter?

HF transferred immediately on approval of CSP to freedom, then later transferred more, and I THINK she got that bad boy around Sept. 2014.

Re: Does chase allow moving credit from one card to anohter?

HF would be me? Smiley Happy If so you are correct!
$500 Freedom approved 7/24
$5,000 CS approved around 8/25 - immediately called to xfer $1500
Sent SM in October to xfer $1500 from CS to Freedom
(occurred to me higher limit would be best on 0% APR card if I ever decided to carry a balance)
As someone else stated super easy with Chase

In case this is helpful per the closing question I sent an SM in October about that also and was informed
a.) account doesnt need to be open any specific amount of time before closing
b.) if account is inactive for at least 30 days prior to close no need to keep $500 sitting on it, entire CL can be xferred to another card
Rules can change, please confirm with Chase before making changes. Merry Christmas!!!

Exactly why I moved some of my CL from the Ritz to the Freedom. $5,500 at 0% is worth more to me than $9,000 at 15.99%

Re: Does chase allow moving credit from one card to anohter?

Here's what an SM representative told me today, just to confirm that what people are saying here is still accurate:

I'm unable to combine any balances that are currently on your accounts,
however, you may request a credit line consolidation.

The amount available for a partial consolidation from your
accounts ending in (blank) to (blank) is $4,500.00

During a full line consolidation, one account will be
closed and its credit line amount will be added to the
credit line of the remaining open account. During a
partial line consolidation, one account will be reduced by
a portion of its credit line and that amount will be added
to the other account number.

For an account to be eligible for line consolidation, the
following set of conditions must be met:

- The liable party on both accounts must be the same. An
account with Joint Liability cannot be consolidated with
an account that has only one liable party. Additionally,
the liable parties on both accounts must match.

- Both accounts must be open at the time of the request.

- Neither account can be overlimit or past due.

- For a full line consolidation, the account to be closed
must have a zero balance and no activity for the past
month. The account that is to be closed will have its
credit line decreased to zero. The entire existing credit
line of the closed account must be added to the existing
credit line of the remaining account.

- If the account you intend to close has had activity in
the past month you'll have the option to move a partial
credit line amount if the account meets the criteria.

To discuss these options further, please contact us at the
number listed below. We'll be happy to assist you.
