Does requesting reconsideration result in an additional hard pull?

A few days ago, Citi turned me down for a new card due to the number of inquiries on my EQ file (at that time there were 7, not counting the inquiry by Citi). Since then, I have successfully had 3 of those removed from my report. My question is, if I ask Citi for reconsideration of my app, will it result in another hard pull?, and if so, will they take the original pull they did into consideration, or just ignore it?

If you are calling you should do now for recon. If you call after 30 days they will definitely pull the credit report again.

Most of the time recon should not cost you another hard inq. But some times they might choose to pull a different CRA to see if you would get better scores. That could cost you another hard inq but on a different Credit Report. In general Citi is pretty good with recon.

Thanks, for the help.  I'll go ahead and call/mail them in a few days. I made a few payments on some of my other accounts, and I have a few inquiries that I may try to get dropped from TU. If its possible that they'll pull EX (3 inqs.) or (TU 6 inqs.) when I ask for Recon. then I might wait for some of these to  go through.
